Hello & Happy New Year Internet Friends!

Hope you’ve all had super relaxing and craft filled holiday season :D

Today I’m sharing my last selfish knitting project that I finished in 2018 (so much Christmas knitting this year!) I finished this back in November and it’s been a cheerful and warm companion through the dark and rainy Vancouver winter. The pattern is Wool and Honey by the oh so talented Andrea Mowry and the wool is from my knit city haul, Sweet Fiber’s Spiced pumpkin on her Super Sweet Sock base.

Velvet Seamwork Tacara

Hello Internet friends!

Just in time for the holiday season (and the accompining holiday work parties) I managed to quickly sew myself a little holiday ‘uniform’ in the form of a velvet Seamwork Tacara dress.

I wanted something that would be super simple to style while being comfy to wear for ease of ‘pre party getting ready’ as well as maximum eating room (holiday food is the best food!). So when Blackbird fabrics released a batch of ‘just in time for the holidays’ stretch velvet I knew I needed to snag some specifically to whip up a holiday party specific dress! Also, would it even be the holidays without out some sort of self induced last minute ‘throw a hem on it so we can leave for the party’ sew-a-thon would it?

Hello Internet Friends!

Today I’m super excited to share with you the end of the #knitterscurse with my completion of a sweater for the fluffy blonde monster :D

For those who may not know, the knitters sweater’s curse is a ‘legend’ that loosely states that you should not knit a sweater for your significant other until ‘they’ve put a ring on it’ because you will then be cursed and the relationship will end prior to the completion of the sweater. Now some of you may be skeptical about such things, however I wasn’t willing to put our 8 year relationship on the line just in case it turned out to be true (plus what would I do with a half finished men’s sweater?)

Hello Internet friends!

Following on the heels of yet another amazing knit city here in Vancouver, today I’m sharing a knitting project that has been sitting in my closet since the spring! It’s my Weekender Sweater by Andrea Mowry that I whipped up this past March. You may have seen some peeks of it during #MeMadeMay of this year when I wore it during our trip to PEI (the pictures here are actually from that trip! look at that stunning red dirt!) Now that the weather has started to get cool it’s back in heavy rotation in my wardrobe!
