Hello Internet Friends!

I can’t believe that it’s been exactly one year since I was in Japan surrounded by Cherry blossoms! So many things have changed since then not withstanding the current global situation (it feels like at least a year since my Bali trip but that was exactly one month ago!) The pop ups in my phone photo app have reminded me not only of that amazing time in Japan, the lovely sakura blossoms, and a time when we could all get together, but also of this fab poet sweater that I knit in time for our trip! So since spring has rolled around again I decided it’s high time I finally blogged about my speckled and striped poet sweater!

Woodbine Sweater

Hello Internet Friends!

I’ve been on a bit of a knitting roll recently so today I’m sharing my second knit city 2019 knitting project, a Woodbine sweater from Issue 9 of Laine Magazine. This pattern happens to be the one chosen to feature on the cover of this issue, so it was the first thing I saw when the new issue became available. I really loved the way the plain stockinette and lace work contrasted in this sweater because it was knit with an thicker aran/worsted base instead of something like light like a fingering weight. Since I’m clearly having a mohair moment I was also very much attracted to the subtle halo surrounding the sweater given by the lace weight mohair held with the aran/worsted base yarn.

Brennivin Cardigan

Hello Internet friends!

Today I’m sharing a project that I stared wayyyy back in may of last year but only finished a few weeks ago, my Brennivin Cardigan by Thea Colman from issue 5 of Laine Magazine! The 5th edition of the Laine Magazine released shortly before my trip to New Brunswick and PEI last spring and I knew that for my ‘doesn’t count towards yarn stash because it’s special yarn from a trip’ purchase I was going to knit something from this awesome collection.
