Hello Internet Friends!
It’s been another hot min since my last post where I wrote about my sew jo coming back after a winter hiatus and while that has held true my ‘blog-jo’ kind of wained (I just didn’t feel like taking pictures which is kinda critical to a sewing/knitting blog) meaning that I have a backlog of projects to share! So to get started on that backlog today I have a recent sewing queue jumper, the Mile End Sweater by ClosetCore Patterns.

Today I’m super stoked to share my latest knitting project, finished just in time for the summer weather to hit vancouver lol (it seriously hit 25 degrees C here on the weekend! Crazy weather for May!) But even though it’s gotten warm here quite quickly I’m sure I’ll still get some decent use out of this cozy, cropped, tee shirt sweater before the real summer hits! (Of course the day I decide to take blog photos it ends up being overcast and rainy, so sorry for the kind of grainy photos since my lighting was off, but the grey moodiness adds to the fuzziness of the mohair in the sweater I feel!)

I’ve been on a bit of a knitting roll recently so today I’m sharing my second knit city 2019 knitting project, a Woodbine sweater from Issue 9 of Laine Magazine. This pattern happens to be the one chosen to feature on the cover of this issue, so it was the first thing I saw when the new issue became available. I really loved the way the plain stockinette and lace work contrasted in this sweater because it was knit with an thicker aran/worsted base instead of something like light like a fingering weight. Since I’m clearly having a mohair moment I was also very much attracted to the subtle halo surrounding the sweater given by the lace weight mohair held with the aran/worsted base yarn.

I had a CRAZY October/early November so please excuse the lack of posts but that crazy time allowed me to fully dig into my Knit City 2019 stash and knit up my first planned project, a daydreamer sweater! If you’ve been lurking my instagram (@beccamadethat) you’ll have seen some of my pictures from this year’s Knit City as well as my yarn haul and planning bullet journal page. Number one on that planning page were plans for a daydreamer sweater, by Andrea Mowry. I fell in love with this pattern when she released it a short while ago and I knew it was going to fly to the top of my Knit City planning list.

Hello Internet friends!
Today I’m sharing a project that I stared wayyyy back in may of last year but only finished a few weeks ago, my Brennivin Cardigan by Thea Colman from issue 5 of Laine Magazine! The 5th edition of the Laine Magazine released shortly before my trip to New Brunswick and PEI last spring and I knew that for my ‘doesn’t count towards yarn stash because it’s special yarn from a trip’ purchase I was going to knit something from this awesome collection.
